Allen & Heath burst into London's thriving music scene in 1969, and their hand-built mixers were soon being used by many of the era's most prominent bands including Genesis, The Who, and Pink Floyd. Indeed, Pink Floyd even commissioned a custom quadraphonic mixing console so that Alan Parsons could better mix their live performances. Named the MOD1, it can be seen in action in the band's film: Live in Pompeii (AKA The Greatest Gig No One Ever Attended).
These days, the Cornwall-based company's products can be found in studios and live venues the world over. Their dLive flagship mixing consoles are large and powerful live audio solutions for installation and professional touring. The Avantis system, conversely, takes the company's next-generation audio technology and boils it down into a compact and robust unit.
The Allen & Heath name isn't only synonymous with professional audio solutions, however, as the company has invested significantly in its affordable audio lines. The ZED series takes the trickle-down technology of the brand's premium mixers and repackages it in affordable, no-nonsense devices for bands and musicians, and it's range of Xone DJ mixers offer industry-standard features without the brand tax of competing manufacturers.
