The Shure MVX2U Gen 2 is a single–channel XLR–to–USB interface engineered for creators, streamers, and podcasters who need studio–grade audio without studio tethering. Shure's design philosophy centres on mobility and simplicity: one compact device, any XLR microphone, multiple operating systems. At 100g and USB–C powered, it delivers audio processing traditionally confined to desktop setups, directly into phones, tablets, and computers via plug–and–play connectivity.
The interface supplies up to 60 dB of gain and 48 V phantom power, handling both dynamic and condenser microphones including low–sensitivity models like the SM7B. Built–in digital processing draws from Shure's MOTIV series: Auto Level Mode for intelligent gain adjustment, a real–time denoiser for background ambience suppression, and Digital Popper Stopper for plosive control. Compatible with Windows 10 or later, macOS 14 or later, iOS 17 or later, and Android 14 or later, alongside the MOTIV Mix, MOTIV Audio, and MOTIV Video applications for workflow flexibility.
Construction allows both plug–on and inline setups, minimising cable clutter across mobile and desktop rigs. MFi certification ensures seamless iPhone and iPad integration without third–party adapters, whilst dual–device switching preserves sound consistency across recording sessions—critical for creators managing content across multiple platforms without re–treating incoming sources.
