Product Information
The MOTU M4 is a 4–in/4–out USB–C audio interface built for musicians and producers who want pro–grade conversion without the bulk or power supply. It uses the same ESS Sabre32 Ultra DAC found in interfaces costing three times the price, delivering 120 dB dynamic range and measuring just 2.5 ms round–trip latency at up to 24–bit/192 kHz. Bus–powered operation keeps the desktop clutter–free.
Two combo XLR/TRS inputs on the front handle mics, line sources and guitars with impedance switching, while two rear balanced quarter–inch line inputs take synths and outboard gear. Four balanced DC–coupled quarter–inch outputs plus mirrored RCA connectors give flexible routing to monitors and headphone amps. The mic preamps measure –129 dBu equivalent input noise, making them clean enough for vocal and acoustic recording. A front–panel blend knob mixes input and playback signals for zero–latency monitoring, and a colour 160×120 LCD shows metering without needing a computer screen. MIDI I/O and driver loopback round out the connections, with full class compliance across Mac, Windows and iOS.
