Product Information

The MOTU M2 is a 2-in/2-out USB-C audio interface built for musicians, producers, and podcasters who need studio-grade sound without the bulk or power cables. MOTU engineered it around the same ESS Sabre32 Ultra DAC found in interfaces costing twice as much, delivering 120 dB of dynamic range on outputs and ultra-clean preamps measured at –129 dBu EIN. Bus-powered and compact, it sits on any desk.

Two front-panel combo XLR/TRS inputs handle mics, line sources, and guitars with individual gain controls, 48V phantom power, and hardware monitoring. Outputs include balanced 1/4-inch DC-coupled connectors for monitors, mirrored RCA for consumer gear, and an ESS-driven headphone output for critical listening. A full-colour 160×120 LCD metres all inputs and outputs in real time—unusual at this price point. Latency measures around 2.5 ms at up to 24-bit/192 kHz. MIDI I/O and driver loopback enable streaming and hardware control. The interface works class-compliant on Mac, Windows, and iOS.
