Product Information

The MOTU M64 is a half-rack MADI interface built for studios, live rigs and installations that need to move large numbers of channels without fuss. It handles 64 channels of optical MADI and 64 channels of coaxial BNC MADI simultaneously, with a duplicate BNC output for splitting. USB 2.0 connects to Mac or PC, while AVB-TSN networking hooks into Ethernet. Round-trip latency sits at 1.7 ms, tight enough for real-time monitoring and mixing.

The onboard DSP engine runs a 48-channel mixer with 7 stereo aux busses, 3 groups and access to 64 network inputs. It includes modeled British EQ, LA-2A-style compression and reverb. Control happens over Wi-Fi via the MOTU Pro Audio Control web app, or run the unit standalone. Connections include word clock I/O and a front-panel headphone output. Two M64 units stack side-by-side using the included bracket kit, doubling channel count in minimal space.

Real-time optical-to-coax conversion lets users bridge MADI streams between different formats and route any input to any output. The class-compliant USB 2.0 connection works with macOS, Windows and iOS without drivers. AudioDesk software is included.
