Product Information
The Lehle Mono Volume S is an active, wear–free volume pedal that replaces mechanical potentiometers with Hall–effect magnetic sensor technology and VCA circuitry. A magnet moves beneath the treadle while the sensor measures distance with precision; an ARM Cortex processor converts this data into a musical taper that controls the voltage–controlled amplifier. The signal path remains entirely analogue. At 50% lighter and 35% smaller than the standard Mono Volume, this compact unit maintains the same treadle range while sitting 2cm lower on the pedalboard.
Input voltage from 9–15V power supplies is internally converted to 30V, delivering 120dB of dynamic range through a discrete Class–A preamp. Input and output impedance remain constant across the full sweep, preventing the high–frequency roll–off typical of passive designs. A switchable boost provides up to +12dB of gain in four presets: 0dB, +5dB, +10dB, and a fourth proprietary voicing. The buffered main output and independent direct output allow simultaneous feeds to amplifiers, tuners, or recording interfaces without signal degradation. Pedal tension adjusts via a precision screw from light to firm resistance.
The USB–C port enables firmware updates, calibration adjustments, and MIDI transmission to DAWs or modelling systems. High–performance polymer bearings eliminate friction and mechanical wear in the treadle mechanism, housed in an aluminium enclosure. This magnetic sensing system requires no internal maintenance or potentiometer replacement. The pedal processes sensor data digitally but keeps audio entirely in the analogue domain, preserving transient response and frequency content without conversion artifacts.
