Product Information
Gibson Vintage Reissue Electric Strings Medium 11-50 recreate the original formula developed by Gibson Master Luthiers in the 1950s, delivering the warm, round tones that defined classic rock and blues recordings. Pure nickel wrapping over a hex-shaped, tinned-steel core produces fuller frequency response and smoother highs compared to modern nickel-plated steel alternatives. This medium gauge set remains factory-spec at Gibson Custom, tested and approved on Gibson electric guitars for over seven decades.
The hex-shaped core geometry maintains tuning stability and increases volume output, while the tinned-steel construction resists corrosion without dampening natural resonance. Pure nickel wrapping produces clear harmonic response with enhanced midrange presence and dynamic sensitivity to picking attack. These strings remain uncoated to preserve authentic electric guitar feel and direct contact between fingers and wire. Manufactured in the USA, the medium gauge spans .011 to .050 inches, providing increased tension and sustain for rhythm playing, drop tunings, and heavier picking styles.
