Product Information
The Jazzmaster® occupies a peculiar place in electric guitar history. Designed as a luxury instrument to win over jazz musicians in the mid–1960s, it instead found its audience among surf and indie players who prized its offset body contours and unconventional tonal character. Fender's American Vintage II series reconstructs these instruments with meticulous accuracy, employing period–correct bodies, necks, hardware and year–specific pickups. This Limited Edition variant distinguishes itself with a 3A Flame Maple neck—a premium aesthetic touch—paired with Custom Shop Fat '60s single–coil Jazzmaster® pickups that deliver slightly hotter output than vintage spec.
Construction centres on an alder body finished in gloss nitrocellulose lacquer, paired with a satin–finished Flame Maple neck sporting a 1966–style "C" profile and 9.5" fingerboard radius for comfortable modern playability. The bound, round–laminated rosewood fingerboard carries pearloid block inlays with black side dots, whilst a bone nut measuring 1.650" supports 21 medium jumbo frets across a 25.5" scale length. Electronics comprise dual single–coil pickups routed through dual–circuit switching: a lead circuit with master volume and tone controls, and a rhythm circuit with thumbwheel neck pickup adjustment. A Pure Vintage floating tremolo with threaded steel barrel saddles and pop–in arm completes the control set, whilst Pure Vintage Single–Line Fender Deluxe tuners handle string tension across a serialised 4–bolt neck plate.
The inclusion of a period–correct G&G hardshell case elevates this offering beyond standard retail bundles, providing serious protection for an instrument built to exacting Custom Shop tolerances. Pre–strung with Fender USA 250R nickel–plated steel (.010–.046 gauge), this guitar arrives ready for immediate playing and tonal evaluation. The offset body geometry and dual–circuit switching system make it particularly suited to players exploring alternative voicings and unconventional tonal territories.
