The Fender® American Vintage II series delivers faithful recreations of the instruments that shaped modern music, built with era-correct materials, finishes and hardware. Each model is designed to reflect the sound, feel and visual detail of its original counterpart, capturing Fender craftsmanship as it stood at key moments in the company’s history.

The American Vintage II 1961 Stratocaster® represents a refined chapter in the Strat’s evolution. By the early ’60s, the model had settled into its now-iconic form, featuring a vibrant 3-Color Sunburst finish, a 3-ply pickguard and a more polished overall aesthetic. An alder body finished in gloss nitrocellulose lacquer is paired with a medium “C”-shaped maple neck and a 7.25" radius slab rosewood fingerboard for an unmistakably authentic playing feel.

Under the hood, three Pure Vintage ’61 single-coil Strat® pickups deliver clear, bell-like highs, balanced mids and a responsive low end that defined countless recordings of the era. Vintage-accurate hardware includes a synchronised tremolo with cold-rolled steel block and bent steel saddles, along with single-line “Fender Deluxe” tuning machines. Supplied in a vintage-style brown case with orange interior, this model is built for players seeking classic tone and period-correct detail.
