Product Information
Epiphone's Alex Lifeson 1976 ES-355 reissue channels the progressive rock legend's iconic semi-hollow body through a modern production lens. Built from five-ply maple and poplar with a solid maple centerblock, this Alpine White guitar balances the sustain and feedback resistance demanded by gigging musicians with the tonal depth that made the ES-355 a studio standard. The Slim C maple neck, 22 medium jumbo frets, and ebony fretboard deliver the fast, responsive playing feel that Lifeson's demanding technique requires.
Electronics consist of two USA–made Gibson T–Type humbuckers paired with CTS potentiometers, Mallory tone capacitors, and Switchcraft switching throughout. The mono Varitone switch opens secondary tonal textures, while a mini toggle allows preset engagement for layering effects on the fly. A harmonica–style Tune–O–Matic bridge with gold hardware and Maestro Vibrola furnish expressive vibrato control. Die–cast tuners with Graph Tech nut maintain tuning stability through extended playing sessions. Multi–ply binding frames the body and headstock, both finished in gloss for visual punch from stage distances.
This model bridges the gap between Custom Shop appointments and accessible pricing. The included hardshell case features Lifeson's signature reproduction and gold–coloured hardware catches, protecting the guitar during transport between rehearsals, studio dates, and live venues. Build quality matches instruments at twice the price point, making this a genuine investment for players serious about semi–hollow tone and vintage ES aesthetics.
