The Epiphone 1960 Les Paul Special Double Cut is a mahogany guitar built to the 1960 Gibson Custom specifications that made the original a studio staple. The double-cutaway body gives fingering room all the way up the neck, while the one-piece mahogany neck carries a fast-playing 60s SlimTaper profile. Two USA-made Gibson Custom P-90 Soapbar pickups deliver the warm, slightly overdriven tone that defined the Special's character, clean and articulate when played softly, gritty and aggressive when pushed.
The fingerboard is rosewood with 22 medium jumbo frets and mother-of-pearl dot inlays, set to a 12-inch radius for comfortable chord work and bends. Controls run through CTS® potentiometers and Bumblebee paper-in-oil capacitors, wired directly to the pickups for authentic vintage response. The Gibson open-book headstock is fitted with Epiphone Deluxe three-on-a-plate tuners and a Graph Tech® nut that locks strings reliably. A vintage wraparound bridge with intonation screws anchors everything and adds the sustain the Special is known for. The guitar ships with a hard case lined in pink plush and branded Inspired by Gibson Custom graphics.
This reissue suits anyone chasing that 1960s session-guitar tone without the vintage-price tag. The double cut makes it genuinely playable in band settings where you need to reach the high frets, and the P-90s work equally well for clean jazz tones and hard-hitting rock.
