Product Information
Earthquaker Devices has reimagined its Plumes Small Signal Shredder in a compact junior enclosure, replacing the original's asymmetrical silicon diode mode with a MOSFET clipping circuit that delivers harmonically rich overdrive with enhanced low end and the dynamic response of a modern high-gain tube amp. This limited edition pedal retains the tube-like character and three distinct clipping voices of the original while introducing a commanding new tonal option in its third mode. The junior footprint offers the same flexibility in a smaller package that conserves pedalboard real estate without sacrificing control or tonal range.
Mode L employs symmetrical LED clipping for a crunchy, compressed, and articulate mid-focused drive. Mode N strips out the soft-clipping diodes entirely, leaving pure OpAmp drive that functions as a clean boost to push front-end tone or drive an already overdriven amp into breakup. The new Mode M substitutes MOSFET clipping for the original's screamer-style asymmetry, producing an open, smooth overdrive with rich harmonic content and the overdriven bite of a cranked tube amp. Three dedicated controls govern Level (output volume), Gain (drive amount), and Tone (bass left, mids centre, treble right).
Features
- Junior enclosure format reduces pedalboard footprint while retaining full control set
- Mode L: Symmetrical LED clipping for compressed, articulate, mid-focused crunch
- Mode N: Clean boost mode with OpAmp drive and no diode clipping
- Mode M: MOSFET clipping with enhanced low end and harmonically rich overdrive
- Three-way toggle switch selects between L, N, and M clipping modes
- Level control adjusts overall output volume independently of gain staging
- Gain knob controls overdrive amount from subtle edge to high-gain saturation
- Tone control sweeps from bass through mids to treble frequency emphasis
