Product Information
The Zildjian FX 7″ Break Bell is a specialised effects cymbal designed to deliver complex, ceremony–inspired tones with immediate attack. Featuring a conical cup, hammered construction, flanged edge and brilliant finish, this 7″ bell produces a unique blend of overtones drawn from traditional eastern rituals. As the thinnest FX bell in Zildjian's range, it responds with exceptional speed and a distinctly tactile playing feel that sets it apart from heavier bell designs.
The conical cup shape focuses the sound while the hammered surface adds textural complexity to each strike. A flanged edge enhances the harmonic content, generating layered overtones that cut through dense musical arrangements. The brilliant finish not only provides visual appeal but contributes to the cymbal's bright, projecting character. This combination of design elements allows the bell to speak immediately upon contact, making it responsive enough for rapid articulation yet rich enough to sustain musical interest across longer passages.
Originally inspired by sounds found in eastern ceremonial music, the Break Bell translates equally well to heavy metal, experimental rock and progressive contexts where unusual tonal colours are required. The thin profile ensures quick response without excessive volume, allowing players to layer bell accents without overwhelming other instruments. Its compact 7″ diameter makes it easy to position within existing cymbal setups, whether mounted as a primary effect or integrated into a multi–bell configuration for varied sonic textures.
