Product Information
Wild Dog's Red Belly Black is a stomp box built for percussive impact rather than subtlety. Handcrafted in Australia from figured Red Gum with a flamed Myall tone bar, this instrument channels the raw, striking character its namesake suggests. The combination of timber selection and construction philosophy yields a focused low–end response topped with crisp chrome shimmer–designed for players prioritising rhythmic punch and definition in their setup.
The 30 cm length and 14 cm width provide a responsive playing surface, whilst the 3.9 cm profile maintains accessibility. At 1.1 kg, it's substantial enough to anchor without requiring heavy fixing. Chrome jingles deliver articulate brightness against the warmer timber fundamentals, whilst black hardware and non–slip rubber feet ensure stable placement on stage or in the studio. Each unit varies naturally in grain and tone owing to hand construction–no two are identical.
The neoprene protective sock addresses road wear and travel concerns, extending the instrument's working life. Australian–built construction means direct access to local repair and modification services, a practical advantage for touring musicians relying on consistent performance. Handcrafted timber instruments of this kind require no electrical setup, making the Red Belly Black equally suited to acoustic ensemble work and electrified contexts.
