Product Information
Vic Firth's Balter Pro Vibe mallets are the standard across concert vibraphone rigs worldwide. The B24B pairs a soft cord–wound head with a birch handle, delivering articulate attack without harshness on the vibes. This design balances touch sensitivity against the durability needed for both rehearsal and performance.
The mallet measures 15.5 inches overall, with a red cord head that sits between genuine mallets and yarn options in tonal character. Soft cord construction reduces high–frequency rattle whilst maintaining clear note definition across the full vibraphone range. The birch handle provides responsive feedback and sits comfortably during extended playing sessions, making these reliable across studio and stage work.
These mallets perform beyond vibraphone alone–soft cord heads work on marimbas, xylophones, and pitched percussion where a gentler approach suits the material. The Balter series remains the go–to choice because the engineering stays consistent; no surprises between mallets or batches.
