Product Information

Vic Firth's Balter Pro Vibe mallets sit at the centre of the Pro Vibe series, a range favoured by working vibraphonists worldwide. These medium–hard cord–wound mallets deliver articulate attack across the full range of the vibes, with weight and balance tuned for both concert performance and studio recording. The birch handle brings responsive feel without excess vibration transmission.

Built with a cord–wound head in green, the B22B measures 15.5 inches long and falls into the medium–hard hardness category–striking the balance between definition and resonance. Cord wrapping produces a warmer tone than plastic or yarn alternatives while maintaining clean articulation on damped or open bars. The birch construction offers a lighter, faster response compared to rattan, making these mallets suited to both single–note work and four–mallet techniques.

These mallets carry endorsements from serious vibraphonists and are standard issue in many concert halls and recording studios. Whether handling classical repertoire, jazz standards, or contemporary concert music, the B22B responds consistently across dynamics without losing definition at volume.
