Product Information

Vic Firth's Balter Pro Vibe mallet delivers the articulation and speed needed for demanding vibraphone work. Built around a hard cord–wound head in yellow, this mallet cuts through dense upper–octave passages with clarity and definition. The 15.5" birch handle provides the weight and balance that's made this series a go–to choice for session and concert players worldwide.

The hard cord winding is the critical specification here–it produces a brighter, more focused tone than softer alternatives and enables precise articulation in rapid passages. Cord–wound construction also resists compression over time, maintaining consistent response through extended playing sessions. The yellow head colour indicates hardness grade, and the birch handle offers durability alongside responsive feel across all four mallets in a standard set.

This mallet sits squarely in concert and studio contexts where clarity matters more than warmth. The Pro Vibe series balances enough softness for musical phrasing with enough attack to cut through ensemble voicing. Gigging vibraphonists and studio engineers working jazz, classical, or contemporary music will find these particularly useful for repertoire demanding both speed and definition.
