Taylor's Premium 351 Thermex guitar picks use a proprietary thermo-bonding process to deliver warmer, richer tone than standard picks. The Black Onyx variant comes in a 6-pack of precision-cut 1.0mm gauge picks, part of the DarkTone Series designed to enhance harmonic warmth and depth. Made in the USA with the classic 351 shape, these picks respond to grip pressure for dynamic control.

The Thermex material undergoes specialised heat treatment during manufacture, altering the molecular structure to produce darker tonal characteristics. At 1.0mm thickness, these picks sit in the medium–heavy range, offering substantial attack without sacrificing flexibility. The 351 teardrop profile provides a familiar playing surface, while the Black Onyx finish delivers grip and visual appeal. Also available in 1.25mm and 1.5mm gauges for players seeking increased thickness and volume.

Thicker picks generally produce fuller tone and greater volume, but holding them with a looser grip achieves softer dynamics without losing depth. Taylor recommends selecting the thickest gauge that remains comfortable in the hand.
