Product Information
The Tanglewood Metropolitan TM4–CE is a compact electro–acoustic built around the super folk cutaway body shape–a design that prioritises ergonomic comfort and focused tone over larger footprints. The Venetian cutaway grants unimpeded fret access for lead work and complex voicings, while the HPL spruce top and koa back–and–sides deliver brightness and midrange warmth without the humidity sensitivity of all–solid construction. This is a workhorse instrument for players who need road durability without tonal compromise.
The solid HPL spruce top is paired with koa for back and sides, yielding responsive dynamics and a balanced frequency response suited to fingerstyle and melodic detail. Ebony fingerboard provides durability under constant finger traffic, whilst the natural satin finish protects the attractive koa grain and reduces stage glare. The integrated Tanglewood TEQ–G3 EQ system offers intuitive tone shaping for both amplified and acoustic contexts, with straightforward controls that don't require deep menu diving during rehearsal or live performance.
Gigging musicians traversing variable climates will appreciate the HPL construction's consistency across temperature and humidity swings. The compact super folk body sits comfortably during long sets, whilst the cutaway unlocks extended–range voicings and melodic passages without repositioning. Whether tracking layered parts in a home studio, rehearsing in uncontrolled venues, or performing live through modest PA systems, the TM4–CE delivers clear articulation and reliable amplified tone.
