Product Information
Tanglewood's Blackbird TB5CE is a dreadnought cutaway engineered to balance projection with playability. The Smokestack Black Satin finish signals a contemporary aesthetic, but the real story lives in the all–mahogany construction—top, back, and sides—which anchors the instrument's warm, midrange–forward character. Built for musicians working across genre and context, this model prioritises comfortable upper–fret access without sacrificing the low–end weight that defines the dreadnought platform.
The TB5CE's tonal foundation rests entirely on mahogany: a material choice that yields pronounced midrange clarity, crisp articulate highs, and robust sustain across both strumming and fingerstyle techniques. Tanglewood's Premium Plus EQ system handles amplification and tonal shaping, providing reliable on–board control for live performance, recording, and rehearsal environments. The engineered–wood fingerboard offers durability without the maintenance demands of solid wood, while the satin finish enhances tactile playability and reveals the natural character of the timber beneath.
This cutaway suits touring musicians who need accessible upper–fret position for melodic passages without the ergonomic compromise of a full–body dreadnought. Bedroom producers tracking acoustic textures and performers rotating between rhythm and lead work both benefit from the balanced amplitude and precision electronics. The robust low–end response pairs well with dynamic mic–ing techniques, whilst the Premium Plus system streamlines both direct–to–interface recording and live PA integration.
