The Tama MS20SN12S 12" Snappy Snare Wire delivers responsive, articulate snare tone through Tama's Starclassic design philosophy. Built from carbon steel strands, this snare wire set uses precision–engineered end plates angled to maximise contact with the drum head. The result is greater sensitivity and faster response across the dynamic range, whether you're playing tight funk grooves or explosive live fills.
Tama's approach centres on how tension interacts with the wires themselves. As you tighten the snare, the strands press closer to the head rather than spreading away from it. Thinner straps replace the older, heavier design, reducing mass and allowing the wires to resonate more freely. Measuring 58 cm wide and 29 cm long with a total weight of 2.084 kg, the MS20SN12S fits 12" drums and brings bell brass strands for enhanced sensitivity and articulate crack without sacrificing sustain.
