Product Information
The patented EndurNeck™ profile delivers a hand position that reduces fatigue and strain during extended playing sessions. This 5-string bass from Swedish maker Strandberg combines the company's headless design philosophy with ergonomic body sculpting, eliminating traditional weight imbalance while maintaining access across the entire fretboard. Finished in Blue Aura Metallic, the Boden Bass Standard redistributes mass away from the upper bout, resulting in a lighter instrument that sits naturally whether seated or standing.
The headless construction removes several hundred grams compared to conventional bass designs, with tuning hardware relocated to the body for improved centre of gravity. Strandberg's body contours and bevels adapt to different playing positions without requiring constant adjustment, while the neck geometry promotes relaxed finger movement up and down the 5-string layout. The design prioritises balance and comfort through weight optimisation rather than adding counterweights, with each curve serving a functional purpose in reducing physical load during performance or studio work.
Extended sessions benefit from the reduced overall mass and natural hand positioning engineered into the EndurNeck™ profile. The headless format eliminates the neck dive common in many bass designs, allowing the instrument to hold position without constant support from the fretting hand. Blue Aura Metallic finish provides stage visibility while the ergonomic shaping accommodates both fingerstyle and slap techniques across all five strings.
