The Sontronics STXLR-USB-C is a 2-metre XLR female to USB-C cable that converts analogue microphone signals to digital without requiring an audio interface or additional drivers. Designed for dynamic microphones, it includes both USB-A and Lightning adaptors for connection to computers, smartphones, and tablets. The cable features a built-in analogue-to-digital converter with a signal-to-noise ratio of 93dB and frequency response spanning 20Hz to 20kHz, delivering professional audio quality directly to recording and streaming software across Windows, iOS, macOS, and Android platforms.
The integrated converter provides 21dB of gain with a 2.3V to 5V bias voltage, handling input levels up to 100mV whilst maintaining total harmonic distortion plus noise of -70dB. The bi-directional adaptor design allows the cable to function in both directions, supporting plug-and-play operation with zero latency and maximum power consumption of 40mA. Weighing just 110 grams, the cable combines durability with portability for recording sessions, podcasts, video calls, and live streams. The XLR connector accepts any dynamic microphone with a 3-pin female XLR output, transforming it into a USB-ready recording tool.
