Seymour Duncan SSL-6 Custom Flat Pickup for Strat (White)

The Seymour Duncan SSL-6 Custom Flat is a specially overwound single-coil Stratocaster pickup engineered for players using lighter gauge strings or guitars with flatter fretboard radii. Flat-pattern hand-ground Alnico 5 rod magnets replace the traditional staggered design, delivering even string balance and enhanced output without sacrificing the signature Strat sparkle. This medium-output design bridges the gap between vintage chime and modern punch, with enough beef to make light strings sing while keeping single notes bold and defined across the entire fretboard.

Hand-built bobbins use Forbon flatwork construction, lacquer-dipped then wound and wax potted to eliminate microphonic squeal under high gain. Modern oval Forbon flatwork ensures the pickup drops into any single-coil–routed guitar without modification. The middle position variant comes reverse wound/reverse polarity for hum-cancelling operation in positions 2 and 4 when paired with neck or bridge pickups. The SSL-6 measures 10cm wide by 7cm tall and weighs 225 grams. USA designed and manufactured, it pairs well with Vintage Flat pickups in neck and middle positions for expanded tonal range.
