The Remo Muff'l Control Ring (MF-1014-00) is a drum dampening system designed for low–volume practice and studio applications. Unlike adhesive–based muting solutions, it uses a triple–notched mechanical system with specially engineered plastic trays that grip foam rings without permanent fixture. Compatible with tom, snare, and bass drums, this accessory addresses the practical need for controlled tonal reduction in confined spaces without altering head tension or tuning stability.

The foam rings mount under the drum head and sit on top of the bearing edge, providing partial dampening that reduces sustain and projection without deadening tone entirely.
