The Remo Ambassador® SMT™ Coated bass drumhead is a pre-muffled 18” design built for drummers seeking controlled tone without sacrificing low-end punch. Remo's Sub Muff®L Technology engineered this head to tame unwanted ring whilst preserving attack and subsonic frequency response. The coated finish and single-ply construction make it a pragmatic choice for players working across jazz, contemporary, and studio applications where frequency management matters.

The 10-mil coated film delivers a broad tuning spectrum, responding predictably across high, mid, and low registers. Pre-muffled design reduces the need for external damping–a practical advantage for drummers looking to dial in tone without gaffer tape or gel pads. The architecture allows additional attack in the subsonic range, useful when tracking low-tuned kick drums or live applications where definition below 60 Hz strengthens the pocket without mud.
