Product Information
Thinner than anything PRS has put into standard production, the Tekton pairs a figured mango top with a mahogany back and a shallow violin carve. The Modern “D” neck is scarfed maple with a satin nitro finish, measuring 1 11/16-inch at the nut and 2¼-inch at the body, so it stays substantial despite the slim profile. A sculpted heel and exaggerated upper-fret scoop open up the top end, and this Violet Tourmaline model comes with a natural neck and a PRS Premium gig bag.
Up the neck, an ebony fingerboard carries a 16-inch radius, 24 stainless steel jumbo frets and offset dot inlays with blue Luminlay side dots, all on a 25.5-inch scale. String spacing matches the Silver Sky and Fiore, slightly wider than traditional PRS, which helps arpeggio clarity and pick attack. Purpose-built Stylus humbuckers use Alnico 5 magnets and a flatter response, holding their character through a tube amp while sitting well alongside modelling rigs. Every pickup position and coil split is meant to be usable.
Hardware is straightforward and stable. The PRS hardtail bridge has individual saddles for precise intonation, with string-through construction adding resonance and sustain, while lightweight Phase III locking tuners hold pitch. Controls stay simple: a volume, a push/pull tone control for the coil split, and a three-way blade switch. The body wears high-gloss nitro, and the Tekton range also comes in Slate Blue, Imperial Topaz, Black Tourmaline, Bloodstone Red and Fuchsia Aura.
