Product Information
This limited–edition collaboration between John Mayer, PRS Guitars, and Defender brings the Silver Sky model to the SE Series in four contemporary colours drawn from the storied Land Rover palette, available only through an order window running from September 15, 2026 to June 30, 2027. The Sedona Red finish marks a first for the Silver Sky line with its black pickguard, paired with a custom neck plate and gig bag exclusive to this run. PRS has retained the core feel and response that define the Silver Sky platform while giving it a fresh visual character inspired by Mayer's passion for Defender vehicles.
The SE Silver Sky Defender maintains the bolt–on neck construction and player–focused specifications that made the original a go–to for touring musicians. The black pickguard against Sedona Red creates a striking contrast that sets this model apart from previous Silver Sky releases, while the hardware and electronics remain true to the standard SE Silver Sky recipe. The custom gig bag provides protection designed specifically for this model, and the unique neck plate distinguishes this limited run from standard SE production.
Built as a working musician's instrument, this model balances the aesthetic inspiration of the Defender Color Collection with the practical demands of stage and studio use. The choice to pull from over 900 Defender colours reflects Mayer's approach to guitar design, looking beyond traditional guitar finishes to objects and materials from the wider world. This SE series model delivers the same playability and build quality as the rest of the Silver Sky family while offering a time–limited colourway that won't be repeated.
