PRS SE Silver Sky Defender Electric Guitar (Petra Copper) inc Gig Bag

John Mayer's signature model meets the contemporary colour palette of Land Rover's Defender in this limited–edition collaboration, bringing Petra Copper – one of four finishes drawn from over 900 Defender hues – to the SE Silver Sky platform. PRS has paired the warm metallic finish with a black pickguard, a first for the Silver Sky model, creating a bold visual departure while retaining the feel and response that define the core instrument. The SE Silver Sky Defender includes a custom neck plate unique to this limited run and a purpose–designed gig bag, available through an order window running from September 2026 to June 2027.

The foundation remains true to the SE Silver Sky specification: a bolt–on maple neck, 25.5–inch scale length, and a sculpted double–cutaway body designed for upper–fret access and extended playing comfort. Three single–coil pickups deliver the glassy top end and midrange clarity expected from the model, while the tremolo system and locking tuners maintain tuning stability across stage use. Playability follows the Silver Sky blueprint – a neck profile and fretboard radius that prioritise speed and comfort without compromising the instrument's ability to handle bends and vibrato.

This collaboration draws inspiration from outside the guitar world, reflecting both Mayer's collecting interests and the shared design philosophy between PRS and Defender: tools that balance function with character. The Petra Copper finish sits alongside Sedona Red, Carpathian Grey, and Woolstone Green in the Defender Color Collection, each representing a contemporary take on a model built for consistent performance night after night. The SE platform delivers the core Silver Sky experience at a price point accessible to working musicians who need reliability and response across rehearsal rooms, studios, and stages.
