Protection Racket's 18" × 16" floor tom case (model 2017-00) delivers the rigid protection serious drummers expect from the UK manufacturer's heritage in percussion transport. Built to accommodate 18" × 16" shells with internal dimensions of 21" × 17", this case accommodates hardware fixtures without requiring shell removal. The design philosophy centres on absorbing road wear whilst maintaining minimal weight penalty–critical for touring kits that spend as much time in vans as on stage.

The case utilises rigid construction throughout, safeguarding bearing edges and finishes from the inevitable impacts of transport between venues. Internal space allows for suspension hardware to remain mounted, streamlining pack-down routines. Those running RIMS-style suspension systems should specify model 2017R-00 instead, which expands internal dimensions to 22" × 17" to clear the increased footprint. The standard 2017-00 sits within Protection Racket's comprehensive floor tom range, which spans from 13" × 13" through to 18" × 18" configurations, each sized to match common tom specifications without excess interior void.
