Forged from the legendary "602 Bronze" alloy and developed in close collaboration with renowned drummer Vinnie Colaiuta, the Paiste 602 Modern Essentials 14" Hi–Hats represent a complete new dimension in cymbal sound. These handcrafted Swiss–made cymbals combine the transparency and stick definition of the Formula 602 Classic Sounds models with the richness, warmth and darkness of the Signature Traditionals series, while providing slightly more character than their Classic Sounds counterparts.

Featuring a medium top and medium heavy bottom configuration, these hi–hats offer exceptional versatility with a volume range from low to loud. The sound character is rich, warm, lush and deep with a complex mix and wide range. Players will appreciate the giving and responsive feel, broad warm open sound, and compact lush chick sound that makes them perfectly suited for dynamic, articulated playing across multiple musical styles.

The stick sound is soft and meaty with lively intensity and medium sustain, while the chick sound remains full and tight. As Vinnie Colaiuta describes them: "They are just chunky enough, but not overpowering. They are a little more chocolaty than the classic 602s." Available since 2013, these cymbals showcase the uncompromising craftsmanship and sound concepts that make them an extremely versatile choice for discerning drummers.
