Product Information

The Paiste 602 Modern Essentials splash cymbal delivers a full, rich and warm voice across a wide, complex sonic range. Built by Paiste's venerable 602 formula–a design philosophy proven across decades of professional and creative use–this 8" splash occupies the sweet spot between articulation and wash, making it suitable for everything from pop and rock to fusion and contemporary styles. The medium weight and medium volume construct ensures responsiveness without sacrificing projection in both intimate and amplified settings.

This splash produces a warm, sparkling stick sound over a deep, even wash, with fairly quick and strong crash characteristics when struck with intent. The 8" sizing sits small enough to cut through a crowded kit without muddying other frequencies, whilst the silvery, lively character generates extreme dynamic range–critical for players seeking nuance and control across varying strike velocities. Whether used as a quick accent, layered effect, or incorporated into stacked configurations, the 602 Modern Essentials formula yields balanced response across the cymbal's playing surface.
