The Meinl Sonic Energy Wind Gong 16" is a handcrafted bronze alloy gong made in China using traditional methods. Also called a Feng or Sun Gong, its almost flat profile allows the voice to fully open, producing a wide tonal spectrum and extended sustain. The 40 cm diameter makes it a substantial instrument capable of filling a room with deep, resonant warmth.
Struck softly, the Wind Gong emphasises lower tones; stronger playing brings out wave–like overtones across its broad frequency range. The special bronze alloy responds dynamically to different strike intensities, giving players real expressive control. A size–matched beater is included, so you're ready to play straight out of the box without hunting for the right mallet.
