Meinl Sonic Energy Stream Sound Moon Phases 10" Raindisk (Tree of Life)

The Meinl Sonic Energy Stream Sound Moon Phases 10" Raindisk is a hand–rotated percussion instrument that recreates the calming sound of flowing water. Crafted from sapelli and MDF in a 25.4 cm diameter disc, this lightweight instrument combines visual artistry with sonic therapy. The carved Moon Phases and Tree of Life design transforms sound generation into a meditative practice, making it a genuine alternative to conventional rhythm instruments for sound designers and mindfulness practitioners.

Playing the Raindisk requires rotating it gently with both hands, which sets internal elements in motion to produce soothing water–like tones. The shallow, organic frequency response sits comfortably in ambient and atmospheric contexts, neither requiring amplification nor competing with other instruments. A soft bag and wooden stand ship with each unit, supporting both performance setup and display. The material composition and carved surface ensure durability across regular use in studios, therapy sessions, and live sound design applications.

Raindisks operate across relaxation practices, sound therapy work, meditation sessions, and ambient music creation. The meditative feedback loop–rotating the disc while listening to its response–distinguishes this instrument from static sound sources. Studio engineers and producers exploring texture–based layering will find the water effect particularly useful for background atmospherics and transition elements.
