Meinl Sonic Energy Pala Seed Chimes Mahogany Wood Bracket

The Meinl Sonic Energy Pala Seed Chimes SPCH combines Pala seed nutshells with a solid mahogany wood bracket to create a distinctive percussion instrument. Unlike traditional chimes, these produce a soft, smooth tone that sits perfectly in ambient and low-volume recording sessions. At 519g, the instrument offers genuine tonal character from natural materials, making it a genuine alternative to synthetic soundscape tools.

Construction centres on authentic Pala seed nutshells mounted to a mahogany bracket—a pairing that yields warm, organic resonance. Played using standard chime technique, the SPCH generates sounds distinctly different from metal or glass chimes, with gentle sustain and natural decay. The smooth tone works across bedroom production, meditation recordings, and live acts requiring subtle textural layers without volume demands.

Musicians working in lo-fi, ambient, and experimental genres will find the Pala Chimes a genuine sound source rather than a novelty addition. The natural materials respond consistently to strike dynamics, offering control over intensity within a naturally compressed dynamic range. This makes them reliable for both studio overdubs and live performance contexts where restraint and nuance matter more than projection.
