Meinl Sonic Energy 7" Steel Tongue Drum C Minor (Gold)

The Meinl Sonic Energy 7" Steel Tongue Drum in C Minor is a compact percussion instrument tuned to produce eight harmonic notes without wrong pitches. Built from coated stainless steel with a gold finish, this 18cm drum generates the soft, resonant tones characteristic of a gentle steel pan. Its pre-tuned design and small footprint make it accessible to players across experience levels, from studio explorers to meditation practitioners seeking therapeutic sound.

Pre-tuned to A4/a' 440 Hz standard, the drum produces notes across C5, D5, Eb5, F5, G5, Ab5, Bb5, and C6—a minor scale spanning two octaves. The coated stainless steel construction delivers warmth and sustain with minimal decay. A pair of wooden mallets featuring rubber heads bring out the drum's full tonal character when struck. The included padded carrying bag ensures safe transport between sessions, whether recording at home or performing in therapeutic settings.

Steel tongue drums excel in sound design, meditation soundscapes, and educational music programmes. The C Minor tonality suits ambient production, yoga class soundtracks, and ambient film scoring. With no tuning required and intuitive note spacing, players can focus on expression rather than technical setup, making it a genuine entry point into melodic percussion.
