Meinl Sonic Energy 12" Steel Tongue Drum G Major (Black)

The Meinl Sonic Energy 12" Steel Tongue Drum in G Major delivers a distinctly musical percussion instrument tuned to eight resonant pitches across a 2.5-octave range. Constructed from coated steel with a black powder finish, this 30.48 cm drum produces the warm, expressive tones essential for meditation, sound therapy, and live performance. The G Major tuning (A4/a' 440 Hz) ensures harmonic compatibility with standard pitched instruments.

Eight precisely tuned notes span G3, A3, B3, D4, E4, G4, A4, and B4, playable with hands or the included rubber mallets. The high-quality steel construction resists corrosion whilst maintaining tonal clarity and sustain. A padded carrying bag protects the drum during transport and storage, while the magnetic pickup compatibility enables amplification and recording applications for bedroom producers and studio engineers.

Steel tongue drums function across solo performances and ensemble settings, responding equally well to melodic phrasing and rhythmic textures. The G Major scale permits intuitive playing without formal music training, while the harmonic range supports both atmospheric soundscapes and structured compositions. Meinl's build quality ensures consistent tuning stability and long-term durability across gigging environments and home studios.
