Product Information
The Meinl Pickup Turbo Slaptop Cajon bridges amplified performance and acoustic integrity. Designed for players working across studio, live, and rehearsal environments, this instrument integrates a passive pickup system with discrete bass and snare level controls, eliminating the need for external microphone placement during amplified sets. Meinl's construction prioritises both tonal character and practical stage deployment.
Built around a lightweight Baltic birch body with a distinctive T–shaped profile (14½" W × 10" H × 5¾" D), the cajon features a walnut playing surface paired with dual internal fixed snare wires for articulate attack and sustain. The passive electronics connect via a 6.3 mm mono jack, with independent volume controls for bass and snare channels, enabling real–time blend adjustments during performance. Forward–projecting sound ports enhance acoustic projection toward the audience independent of amplification.
The compact footprint and ergonomic lap–playing design suit both seated recording sessions and standing live contexts where external microphone systems prove impractical. Touring musicians and studio producers benefit from the absence of feedback concerns and the direct signal path to mixing consoles or amplifiers, streamlining setup across different venues and recording spaces.
