Meinl's Journey Series bongos deliver authentic hand–drum sounds in a construction built for durability and affordability. The 6½" and 7½" pairing uses moulded ABS plastic shells – an environmentally sustainable alternative to traditional wood that resists cracking, warping, and moisture damage. Hand–selected buffalo heads provide the tonal character serious players expect, while rounded rims reduce finger fatigue during extended sessions.
The black powder–coated hardware resists corrosion and pairs cleanly with the dark finish. ABS construction keeps weight down compared to wooden shells, making these bongos portable enough for rehearsals, bedroom sessions, or gigging without sacrificing the resonance that separates playable drums from toys. The dual–size setup spans the range needed for traditional Cuban patterns and contemporary percussion arrangements alike.
