The Markbass MB58R 121 ENERGY is a single 12″ bass cabinet engineered around custom neodymium drivers and a focused power–to–weight design philosophy. This 8–ohm enclosure handles 400W RMS and weighs just 11.6kg, making it a portable standalone option or an extension cab for Markbass combo amplifiers. The cabinet features a 1″ compression driver with custom horn, crossing over at 3.5kHz to deliver extended high–frequency response up to 20kHz. Rear–ported reflex tuning extends the low end down to 40Hz.
Sensitivity is rated at 99dB SPL, providing efficient output from moderate–wattage heads. Dimensions are 39cm wide, 57.8cm tall, and 47cm deep. The neodymium speaker keeps magnet weight low while maintaining output, and the enclosure construction uses materials chosen for reduced mass without sacrificing cabinet rigidity. Frequency response spans 40Hz to 20kHz, with the tweeter adding articulation in the upper register. The 8–ohm impedance allows pairing with a second cabinet for higher total power handling when driven by compatible amplifier heads.
The MB58R 121 ENERGY reproduces the natural tone of acoustic bass guitar and double bass with accuracy across its full bandwidth. The rear–firing port enhances low–frequency extension, while the horn–loaded compression driver maintains clarity without harshness. Made in Italy, the cabinet combines European manufacturing with components developed through extended research into driver voicing and cabinet tuning. The 400W power handling suits medium–output heads and combo extension applications equally well.
