Product Information
The KNA BP-1 is a bridge-mounted piezo pickup engineered to capture the natural tone of your banjo with minimal feedback. Unlike microphone-based systems, this portable unit sits directly on the bridge, translating vibrations into a clean signal. Weighing just 17g and constructed from maple, the BP-1 connects via standard 1/4" jack housing mounted on the tailpiece, making it one of the most detachable and portable banjo pickups available.
Signal integrity comes from an 800 Ω impedance design paired with a piezo sensor measuring 36.5 mm long and 5.1 mm tall. The pickup slot width of 1.6 mm accommodates most bridge designs, while the 210 mm lead wire provides ample reach to rear-mounted hardware. A maple shim (18 mm × 6 mm × 0.7 mm) ensures stable coupling between sensor and bridge. The entire assembly disconnects without tools, letting you swap between acoustic and amplified playing in seconds.
Feedback rejection over a microphone makes the BP-1 especially useful for live gigging and recording scenarios where room noise or stage volume would otherwise compromise capture. The bridge-mounted approach preserves tonal character while delivering signal strength suitable for mixing consoles, amp inputs, or audio interfaces.
