Product Information
The 310S MkIII extends JBL's 3 Series MkIII monitor range down to 26 Hz at –10 dB, providing the low-frequency extension that compact nearfields can't deliver on their own. This dedicated 10-inch powered subwoofer transforms a stereo pair of 305P, 306P or 308P monitors into a full-range 2.1 system, with bass management features that also support surround and immersive audio workflows. The downward-firing driver uses an advanced magnetic system for controlled output across the room, while a patented Slipstream port on the front baffle reduces turbulence and port noise as levels increase.
A 300-watt Class D amplifier delivers up to 116 dB peak SPL, giving enough headroom for demanding production, post and playback applications. Frequency response measures 27 Hz to 370 Hz (±3 dB), with usable extension reaching 26 Hz. Selectable crossover points at 80, 100 and 120 Hz make 2.1 integration straightforward, while an external crossover bypass mode hands bass management duties to an existing system in surround or immersive configurations. Phase alignment has been improved over the previous generation, delivering a cleaner handoff to the full-range monitors in the signal chain.
For users already running 3 Series MkIII monitors, the 310S MkIII provides a direct upgrade path that addresses the low-frequency limitations of compact two-way designs. The subwoofer allows monitoring decisions across the full spectrum without requiring a complete system change, maintaining the tonal character of the existing monitors while filling in the bottom octaves that smaller cabinets physically cannot reproduce at reference levels.
