IK Multimedia's iLoud Sub is a 6.5" active subwoofer built around automatic room correction rather than manual tuning. The compact form factor–just 244 mm tall and 7.1 kg–sits apart from traditional studio subwoofers that demand dedicated floor space. ARC® X software calibrates both the sub and any connected monitors (regardless of brand) by measuring your room acoustically, then time-aligns the subwoofer to eliminate phase issues across the frequency spectrum.
Construction centres on a high-performance aluminium woofer paired with dual 6.5" passive radiators on the sides, delivering 160 W RMS and 200 W peak output. The 25–150 Hz frequency response (–6 dB) extends low-end reach without bloat, while a peak SPL of 106 dB at 40 Hz provides headroom for critical listening. Connectivity includes XLR and RCA analogue ins and outs, USB-C digital input, and Bluetooth audio; all controls and connections sit on the rear panel for minimal aesthetic intrusion.
ARC X's automatic subwoofer alignment feature solves real workflow friction: the software now measures delay and gain independently, so kicks, bass lines, and synth design lock into focus without throwing off mix translation. The included measurement microphone with clamp and USB-B cable mean setup requires no additional hardware. This approach suits both small immersive surround setups and traditional stereo monitoring where compact footprint is non-negotiable.
