Product Information
Hohner's smallest octave harmonica packs 32 reeds into a pocketable form that's become the go-to choice for Alpine folk players across Europe. The Unsere Lieblinge 32 (German for "our favourites") delivers the warm, breathy octave tone that defines traditional mountain music, with each note doubled an octave apart for that characteristic rich, full sound. Tuned to the key of G, this double-reed design uses a maple comb finished with two coats of lacquer to resist moisture swelling during extended playing sessions.
The construction centres on 0.9mm brass reed plates with brass surface finish, mounted to the double-lacquered maple body. Screw-mounted covers allow players to access the reeds for cleaning and tuning adjustments without permanently damaging the instrument. The curved body shape fits naturally in the hand and makes it easier to create vibrato and hand-muting effects. While this harmonica has deep roots in German and Austrian folk traditions, the octave voicing translates well to pop arrangements and evergreen standards where a harmonica needs to cut through without dominating the mix.
