Product Information
The Hohner Marine Band Deluxe reinterprets the classic diatonic harmonica with upgraded playability and tonal warmth. Tuned to the key of E, this 10–hole model features a doussié wood comb that resists moisture and adds resonance missing from cheaper plastic alternatives. The triple–lacquered finish and sealed wood treatment prevent swelling during extended playing sessions, addressing the primary weakness of traditional Marine Band models.
Hohner equips this Deluxe with stainless steel cover plates that project volume without sharp edges, plus recessed Phillips screws that allow quick disassembly for maintenance. The 20 brass reeds are individually embedded and optimised for faster response across all three octaves. Each reed plate sits flush against the comb with precision tolerance, reducing air loss and improving bending control on draw notes. The mouthpiece openings measure slightly larger than standard Marine Band spec, enabling comfortable tongue–blocking techniques favoured by blues and folk players.
