Product Information
Handcrafted in Ridgeland, South Carolina, the Gretsch USA Custom Ridgeland 14x5 Inch Snare Drum represents nearly four decades of American drum-making tradition. This snare features an extra-thick 9-ply shell constructed from maple, gum and poplar, delivering warm, full-bodied tone with exceptional attack. The hybrid bearing edge combines Gretsch's classic 30º profile with a Broadkaster-style roundover, offering both vintage warmth and modern projection. Each drum bears the signature of master drum maker Paul Cooper.
At nearly half an inch thick, the shell provides remarkable resonance and depth across all dynamic levels. The 4mm die-cast counter hoops ensure precise tuning stability and focused rimshot response. Gretsch's Lightning throw-off delivers quick, reliable snare engagement, while 20-strand snare wires provide crisp response and controlled articulation. Finished in hand-rubbed gloss ebony lacquer, this snare matches the aesthetic of the USA Custom series. Gretsch Permatone drumheads come fitted as standard, voiced to complement the shell's natural tonal characteristics.
