Product Information

The Gibson Thunderbird™ Bass is a neck–through instrument rooted in 1960s automotive design, conceived by Ray Dietrich who also shaped the Firebird™. This 2024 iteration maintains the Reverse body silhouette in solid mahogany whilst incorporating a glued–in set neck with SlimTaper™ profile for enhanced playability. The 34" long–scale design establishes full low–end definition across a range of playing styles and genres.

Construction centres on a mahogany body paired with a matching set neck and fast–playing taper profile. Twin EB Bass humbucker™ pickups feed independent volume controls and a master tone circuit, enabling either pickup isolation or blended operation across the full frequency spectrum. Hardware includes Hipshot® Ultralite® Mini Clover tuning machines for precise mechanical control and a Hipshot Supertone bridge with adjustable action and intonation compensation. The 3–ply white pickguard carries the iconic Thunderbird logo and completes the visual signature. A Gibson hardshell case provides road–ready protection.
