Product Information
Gibson's Songwriter Recording Artist EC brings 1930s acoustic engineering into a modern cutaway platform designed for studio and stage. Handcrafted in Bozeman, Montana, this dreadnought features a thermally aged Sitka spruce top paired with rosewood back and sides, drawing tonal philosophy from Gibson's vintage Advanced Jumbo lineage. The 25.5" scale length and scalloped Advanced X–braced top deliver the dynamic range and projection demanded by professional players working live or in the recording environment.
Construction centres on a mahogany neck with compound dovetail joint and hot hide glue attachment for maximum tonal transfer. The bound ebony fretboard carries 20 frets with mother–of–pearl diamond inlays, whilst Grover® open–back tuners and a bone nut ensure tuning stability. Electronics centre on the L.R. Baggs™ HiFi system with dual bridge plate sensors and onboard preamp, voiced to preserve natural acoustic character whilst rejecting feedback. Soundhole–mounted controls remain subtle during performance. The guitar ships in a hardshell case.
The cutaway body design expands fretboard access for lead work and extended range exploration, making this platform particularly suited to fingerstyle arrangers and session players. Tortoiseshell pickguard and abalone rosette offer protection and aesthetic coherence. TUSQ® bridge pins and ebony bridge with bone saddle complete the signal path from string to preamp, delivering string balance and note definition that translates reliably into mixing console or PA system.
