Product Information
The Gibson Custom Shop Murphy Lab '59 Les Paul Standard Ultra Light Aged recreates the 1959 Les Paul specification with hand-applied aging processes applied at the Nashville Custom Shop. Each instrument receives individual treatment, so finish character, wear patterns, and final weight differ from guitar to guitar. The Iced Tea Burst finish is sprayed in nitrocellulose lacquer over a carved maple top, delivering period-correct tone and appearance with the Murphy Lab's signature relic work.
Construction uses a mahogany body with carved maple top and a pair of humbucking pickups fitted with aged hardware throughout. The Ultra Light Aged programme targets a lower finished weight than standard Custom Shop production, reducing mass while maintaining the structural integrity and resonance expected from a historically-spec'd Les Paul. Buyers should contact the stocking store directly for precise weight, finish detail, and full specifications on this specific instrument, as aging and wood selection create unique variation between examples.
