Expressive E's Osmose CE 61–Key is an MPE controller engineered for musicians who want expressive gesture control across their existing DAW and plugin ecosystem. Unlike standard MIDI keyboards, it shares the same expressive keybed technology as Expressive E's flagship Osmose synthesiser, delivering per–note pressure, pitch bend, vibrato, shake, strum, and expressive note–off capabilities. The 61–key aluminium and metal construction (1,106 mm long, 11 kg) integrates instantly with Live 12+, Cubase 15+, Bitwig 5+, and Logic Pro 12+, making it purpose–built for studio production workflows rather than standalone performance.

The keybed responds to how notes are pressed, bent, and released—not merely where they're struck. Osmose CE ships with Ctrl–e, a free companion software suite comprising over 900 expressive presets and access to curated sound engines from leading developers, all calibrated to respond naturally to the keybed's gestures without requiring manual mapping or complex setup. Connectivity spans USB–C (power delivery), DIN MIDI In, DIN MIDI Out/Thru, and two assignable pedal inputs. The control surface includes 7 knobs/encoders, 9 buttons, a 4.3" colour LCD, and dedicated pitch and modulation sliders for real–time DAW control (transport, navigation, mixer automation). Eight pre–mapped macros per preset allow quick access to essential parameters without menu diving.

Press Glide—a proprietary technique using pressure instead of static portamento timing to slide between notes—enables expressive articulation otherwise impossible on conventional keyboards. The integrated MPE Arpeggiator converts chords into independent, evolving patterns across both MPE and standard MIDI modes, expanding compositional possibilities beyond traditional step sequencing.
